| About me? Nothing complicated, what you see is what you got. One important thing is that God has been always with me even when I didn’t want to. That’s #1 my relationship with my Lord. Then comes the family that He gave me; my wife, son and daughter. I see so much of God in them… I’m so grateful.Musically… I grew up in a musician’s family from percussionists to harpists to violinists accordionist, saxophonists, singers, etc… My father got me a conga set for my 12th birth date and that’s when the headaches started for my mom. Not too long after we got a timbales set from a friend and my brother started saxophone lessons… so while I was practicing in my bedroom he was in the basement. My sister used to play piano but she had a synthesizer with headphone… she was the quiet one. Good times those…
I have study on my own mostly latin percussion history, rhythms and other world drumming with various percussionist in clinics and books. A main teacher? Yes, Leobadis “Pikin” Gonzalez, great drummer, percussionist, but over all great human being.I’ve got the chance to play with great musicians… and I’m not going to start throwing names now.
