ENGLISH: Mescal is a label/managemen..oking that produces and follows through new musicians and valuable projects, that very often are underestimated or ignored by the official music industry in Italy, contributing to the production and promotion of real Italian contemporary music. Mescal does not specialize in one musical genre but crosses boundaries and estimates eclectic approaches to music and its artists have a first class treatment and are followed step by step. Mescal started out its overall activities in 1993 and began producing records as a label in 1997. Since the beginning it has been fully involved in the management of the artists as well as the live section.Mescal has offices in Bologna and Turin but the main office where live production, contracts and press office duties are carried out is located in Nizza, near Asti, a beautiful location on the hills and vineyards of Monferrato, in the region of Piedmont in Italy.Mescal is also behind Italy's best itinerant festival "Tora!Tora!", a phenomenal tool of self promotion for the vibrant music scene of the peninsula. An on the road adventure that started out in 2001 kept tightly together by Afterhours' lead singer Manuel Agnelli, a communal experience of travelling from various cities to Italy's beautiful faraway locations, playing in front of an ever-growing audience of music enthusiasts of the national scene.Mescal is the brainchild of mister Valerio Soave. ITALIANO: La Mescal nasce nel 1993. Il primo intento è quello di produrre e tutelare musicisti emergenti, progetti degni di nota che molto spesso vengono trascurati o, peggio ancora, ignorati dalla discografia ufficiale. Nell’arco di questi anni la struttura si è evoluta fino al punto di garantire all’artista un trattamento privilegiato, tale da tutelarlo a 360 gradi. Non solo etichetta, nata successivamente nel 1997, con tutto quello che comporta, ma anche management e ufficio live con una articolata ed efficiente struttura per la produzione e la realizzazione degli eventi. All’interno della Mescal, gli artisti vengono seguiti passo dopo passo attraverso la produzione del disco, le strategie promozionali e di marketing, la consulenza contrattuale ed editoriale, ecc… Per quanto riguarda il live, sia il booking che la produzione, così come l’ufficio stampa, vengono direttamente svolti all’interno della struttura. Tutto questo permette di non avere dispersioni di nessun tipo e di seguire ogni progetto con continuità. Grazie alla presenza all’interno della Mescal di un agenzia di produzioni live si sono realizzati anche vari eventi: fiore all’occhiello in quest’ultimo caso, il Festival itinerante “Tora!Tora”, fortemente voluto da Manuel Agnelli degli Afterhours, direttore artistico del Festival. Le prime quattro edizioni (2001/2002/2003/2004) sono state certificate dalla realizzazione di altrettante doppie compilation!
