| .. I am the cinematheque of your dreams (and I keep getting better!). I love ALL types of film. Independant, foreign, mainstream, local, funny, scary, thrilling, sad, political, sexy, documentary, classic, avant-garde, futuristic, low budget, big budget, violent, tame, romantic, subtitled, dubbed, in your face, even some that are boring, pointless and bad. Every film has a place in my (and your) eyes at the Starz FilmCenter. Sure, the 30th Starz Denver Film Festival is over, but the Starz FilmCenter is a year round film festival right here in the sweet metropolis that you call home: Denver. We're a non-profit operated by the Denver Film Society and we just want to show you some good movies. And you KNOW these babies are good. You can find the FilmCenter at 900 Auraria Parkway (across from the Pepsi Center)on the edge of the Auraria Campus. You can park for FREE in the surface lot right in front of the old TIVOLI. Television:I've got my favorite TV shows too, but I mostly use my tube to watch my favorite movies on when the FilmCenter is closed. |

Books:The greatest love story ever told, in my humble opinion, is that of horror film monsters and the girls that end up taking them down. This is a subject not often discussed at coffee shops and the like but one woman, the lovely Carol Clover, wrote a whole book of essays, called MEN WOMEN AND CHAINSAWS, on the horror film and that beauty and the beast relationship is just one of the many chapters. Take it with a grain of salt, Clover gets a bit academic (and a little over the top) but it's so much fun to see these movies split open and examined like the insides of a meaty corpse. Mmmmm.
