After leaving his previous band, Starfield to pursue his own musical ideas, Danny Faulkner’s Pre-Med is the latest, and many would argue greatest project to come from the Essex based multi instrumental and vocalist.

The story is a simple one, Faulkner attends a Bedouin gig, a band formed by Hawkwind bassist Alan Davey and their former drummer Danny Thompson. It’s here that he strikes up a conversation with the sticksman, which in turn leads to a meeting with Davey and soon a firm and lasting friendship is born, so much so that Danny ends up joining Bedouin as lead vocalist.

Bedouin’s increasing popularity and profile leads to Alan leaving the Hawks on a long term sabbatical but he decides to re-join Hawkwind full time after 2000’s Hawkestra event at the Brixton Academy and this time it’s Bedouin’s turn to be placed on the backburner.

Throughout all this Danny and Alan remain in touch and whist’s Davey’s return to Hawkwind is a great career move for all concerned, Danny returned to his home studio to work on new demos that would eventually lead to Pre-Med and when Alan heard them he was so impressed that he was eager to get involved in the project and eventually he lent his skills on bass, keys and vocals to the album.

And so we’re up to date in 2008 and the album “Medication Time” is now out on the Voiceprint label and a must for all fans of seriously good music, taking influences from, (unsurprisingly) Hawkwind and space rock in general but add to that liberal doses of ambient moods, a touch of drum and bass, sci-fi theme tunes and some good old straight ahead rock ’n’ roll and you’ve got one of the most interesting and varied albums to appear so far this year. Other guests to feature on the disc include Danny Thompson whose already been mentioned, Steve Leigh former keyboard player with Prog band Landmarq and last but not least Danny's brother Martin who contributed some of the lyrics to the album.

Although no live dates are planned at the moment a second album is now complete and is also avalible from either voiceprint and all record stores. More information as things progress
