| Il progetto Fade out prende forma nell'estate 2002, ma è solo dopo numerose vicissitudini che si consolida la line-up attuale composta da Federico Preziosi (basso e voce), Lello Pisacreta (chitarra e cori) e Luigi Petrillo (batteria). Il nome della band è un tributo all'omonima canzone dei Radiohead, gruppo di Oxford di cui i "Fades" sono infatuati da sempre, ma le influenze non si limitano soltanto alla band inglese: i giovani irpini sono affascinati da tutta la scena rock mondiale, dalla new wave dei Joy Division allo stoner dei Kyuss, dal grunge di Seattle al post rock di Chicago, passando per le incursioni noise tipiche dei Sonic Youth e i riff anni '70, nel pieno rispetto per la tradizione rock nostrana, una lezione importante tramandataci da Afterhours e Marlene Kuntz. La band può vanatare di un enrome background musicale che, grazie alla variegata miscela di influenze, rende possibile la composizione di brani diretti, ma anche di canzoni dalle atmosfere aleatorie e psichedeliche. La filosofia che sta alla base del gruppo è quella di giocare con il sound e con le strutture dei brani, di sperimentare le diverse possibilità che la musica offre, cercando di raggiungere risultati sempre nuovi e di non essere mai statici.Il gruppo appartiene alla Mic.Rec., auto produzioni gruppi emergenti, il cui scopo è quello di promuovere le proprie bands tramite festival e demo autoprodotti.
