| I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) The 2nd System was formed in 2000-2001 by Derrick Fisher, Patrick Brennan, and Jack Masters. They later added Chris Bass on Bass. After Chris left the group they enlisted the help of Patrick's ex- bassist from a previous band (Holding 7 Down), Jeff Schock. They then began to experiment with a 2nd vocalist named Chaen Skamelka, which ended shortly after it started because it just wasn't fitting. Now back to the Four...they were approached by Don Lajiness who began to inquire about a 2nd guitarist in the band. That same show Troll hopped on stage for a rather memorable performance of "Loco" by Coal Chamber. Jeff soon left to pursue other avenues of life only to be replaced by Sean Haller After months of practice and rehearsal shows at The Bar Formerly Known as Wiseguys, they began playing out to clubs, bars, and venues of all types. From fighting tooth and nail to get into the Hamilton Street Pub, to selling tickets to open for Nationals at Harpo's, and everything else in between ranging from all ages shows to Lingerie/Leather/Fetish displays in Underground Detroit, and from Birthday Parties and outdoor festivals they started building a fanbase as the high energy 6 piece of Balance Metal that sets an example of what a live show should be...fun...energetic...and entertaining. Jack Masters was replaced by Tyler Johnson on fill-in status until Johnson decided that he wanted to stay for a while. Continuing on the path that was originally set forth, the band seemed to get better with every replacement. In this lineup they accomplished many things: Review Magazines Best Rock Band of the Year twice in a row with many other mentionable awards and nominations(14 in one year and 12 in the other). After the release of Karma Chanics and the demo of what is to be the follow-up, Patrick Brennan was replaced by,first, a singer named Christopher Robin formerly of Nothing is Sacred, and then by a scene newcomer by the name of Megan Marie, who is also a classically trained pianist. The 2nd System had accomplished playing the Rock'n'Roll Hall of fame in a nationwide Battle of the Bands as a representative of Michigan's Best of the Best (2nd only to the mighty Silverspork) while performing as a five-piece with just Troll on vocals. This past year was devoted to touring and recording endlessly resulting in Troll exiting the band and the rest of The 2nd System taking some much needed time off for the winter to finish writing, recording and possibly replacement. The future is uncertain at this moment as to whether or not we will replace Troll or move on without him..one thing is for certain... The 2nd System has not stopped evolving since its' inception...it probably will never.Some may come and some will go, but I at least had my chance to see all of you, even if just once. -DF | |
