| NEWS - May 2009 After a long hibernation, plans for sweet, late-night performances are in the works... including music co-written with screenwriter & poet Chumahan Bowen. Watch this space. October 2008 Soraiya's FIND ME THERE is one of CD Baby's Top-Selling Jazz-Rock albums! Tracks are also available on iTunes. Biography - Over the last seven years Soraiya has trained in Canada as an opera singer, played in a jazz-rock fusion band (CHOP) in Edinburgh, and studied jazz and music production. While living in London last year she recorded an album (FIND ME THERE) with legendary guitarist Ant Law. Since August 2007, Soraiya has been gigging in LA, Vancouver, NYC, and London. She is also working with producer Chin Injeti (who is currently producing Kinnie Starr, Hot Hot Heat, The Killers, Esthero, and The New Royales). In her other life, Soraiya has completed a Masters in Dispute Resolution. Sample Review - "The first songstress of the evening, Soraiya, a pixie-like Canadian native opened her set with strong, bluesy chords engulfing the light overhead and making it her own. She illustrated wonderful vocal range with the gentle "And The Spring", hitting such wide variations that I couldn't help but imagine her in the bright lights of Broadway.
