| IL KIF - BIO- ENGLISH: Il Kif is a rock’n’roll band. Precisely, if you’d ask the guys “which is you genre?”, they’d probably answer :”it’s Atomic rock’n’roll!” But why “Atomic”? Well, it is to say, with a little irony, but not so much, that the sound of Il Kif is made by hard, fast and pressing grooves, crunchy and big-muffy guitar sounds, often immersed in the chemestry of whammy, bass overdrive and delay pedals; scratched and aggressive voices, lyrics (in Italian) often hard and angry, like the scream of a generation that tries to take again possession of its freedom and that don’t stop the fighting, when necessary, against a wrong “system”. But the band doesn’t forget the most good-time and funny aspects of playing that wonderful music, whose birth, the music history books date in the mid 50’s, and that’s named Rock’n’Roll. Few things have changed by that time. Rather the power of the sound has increased, more and more, till to generate an explosive sound like Il Kif’s sound is. But the origins of Il Kif’s music must be located also in the blues, which is always present, maybe subterranean, but essential, and in the psichedelia, that often reappears, generating whirls of sound and chromatic spirals, which make the audience’s minds tralel, goin’ far away, but at high speed! Some people have also associated the sound of the band with punk sound or, sometimes, metal sound,or stoner rock sound...but Il Kif wants to be spoken only and absolutely as a Rock’n’Roll band.Born in the end of 90’s, and founded by Claudio De Pascale, Il kif has performed all around Italy, in the clubs, in the streets, in the festivals, in the radios. The best of the songs written “on the road” has come together in the album “Kung Fu” (that means, translated from Chinese, “hard work”), published by the italian label HURRICANE SHIVA. ************************************************************ ***** IL KIF - BIO- ITALIANO: Il Kif è una rock’n’roll band. Precisamente, se rivolgeste alla band la domanda “qual è il vostro genere ?”, i ragazzi vi risponderebbero: “è Atomic Rock’n’Roll !” Perché “Atomico”?…Per dire, con un pizzico di ironia ,ma non troppa, che il suono del Kif è fatto da ritmiche serrate ed incalzanti, suoni di chitarra crunch / big muff, (spesso bagnati nella chimica del whammy, del bass overdrive e del delay) voci graffiate ed aggressive, testi (in italiano) a volte duri, spesso arrabbiati, l’urlo di una generazione che cerca di riappropriarsi della propria libertà, scagliandosi, quando serve, contro un “sistema” sbagliato. Senza però dimenticarsi degli aspetti più goliardici e divertenti del suonare quella splendida musica, che forse esiste da sempre, ma la cui nascita i libri di storia della musica datano agli anni ’50, e che si chiama Rock’n’Roll. Poco è cambiato da allora…anzi, la potenza del suono è aumentata, sempre di più…fino a generare un suono esplosivo come quello del Kif… Atomico appunto! Ma le origini della musica del Kif affondano anche nel blues, che è sempre presente, quasi sotterraneo, ma fondamentale, e nella psichedelica, che spesso ricompare, generando dei vortici sonori e delle spirali cromatiche che… “portano lontano”, ma a tutta velocità! Molti hanno accostato il suono della band anche al punk, o al metal in alcuni casi, o allo stoner rock …ma il Kif vuole sentire parlare di sé solo ed esclusivamente come una Rock’n’Roll band. Nato alla fine degli anni ’90, e fondato da Claudio De Pascale, Il Kif ha suonato in giro per l’Italia, nei locali, nelle piazze, nei festival, nelle radio. Il meglio delle composizioni che sono nate cammin facendo, è confluito nell’album “KUNG FU”, (che, ricordiamo, tradotto dal cinese significa “duro lavoro”), edito dall’etichetta HURRICANE-SHIVA. | |
