Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Love letter? *****************************************************With only her guitar under her Katja Werker began her musical career through the clubs of the Germany and soon became folk music's insider alternative of the 90s. After attaining several awards in newcomer and band competitions as well as journeying to Real World Studios (Peter Gabriel), Werker home-recorded her first album in 1998, "What the Bird Said", and pressed 500 copies. The album attracted much praise within her circle of music friends and yet it took a further two years until a talent scout helped her to get a deal with Germany's major label BMG. In the fall of 2000 Katja's album "Contact Myself" was released and went straight to 47 in the German album charts. Katja then took time off to become a mother. For five years she worked on her album, "Leave that thing behind", released in 2005, for which she produced everything including the artwork. At present Katja has finished her work on her actual album, titled DAKOTA to be released in early 2008, which is to reflect her musical roots. Her incomparable voice and special charm can be heard on the PARSHIP song from the TV spot.******************************************************* *********Nur mit ihrer Gitarre unter dem Arm spielte sich Katja Werker zu Beginn Ihres musikalischen Werdegangs durch die Clubs der Republik und wurde dabei zum Folk-Geheimtip der 90 iger Jahre. Nach etlichen Preisen, die sie bei Nachwuchs -und Bandwettbewerben gewann,sowie einer Reise zu den Real World Studios (Peter Gabriel) spielte Werker 1998 ihr erstes Album "What the bird said" zu Hause im Wohnzimmer ein und vervielfältigte dieses in einer Auflage von 500 Stück. Der Zuspruch aus Kreisen ihrer Musikerfreunde war gross, doch gingen weitere zwei Jahre ins Land, bis ein Talentscout ihr zu einem Plattendeal bei Deutschlands großem Label BMG verhalf. Im Herbst 2000 wurde Katja.. s Album Contact Myself veröffentlicht und erreichte auf Anhieb Platz 47 der deutschen Albumcharts. "Stereoplay" und "AUDIO" küren das Album zur CD des Monats, die Künstlerin zur Entdeckung des Jahres. 5 Jahre tüftelte Sie an Ihrem 2005 erschienenen Album “leave that thing behind”. Zur Zeit vollendet Katja ihr brandneues Album DAKOTA, das im April 2008 erscheinen wird.******************************************************* *********Katja Werker commence sa carrière musicale en se produisant dans de nombreux clubs à travers l..Allemagne et se fait rapidement un nom dans la scène internationale "Folk" des années ..90. Elle prend part à plusieurs concours de "Singer-Songwriter" auxquels elle obtient sans hésitation du jury un premier prix, et par la suite, l..opportunité de travailler avec Paul Lucas (chanteur et trompettiste du groupe "Element Of Crime". Katja obtient d..autre part la possibilité de rendre visite à Peter Gabriel dans son studio "Real World" à Bath en Angleterre. Elle enregistre peu de temps après son premier album "What The Bird Said" dans son salon, qui sera pressé 500 fois. Un "talentscout" découvre Katja Werker deux ans plus tard lors d..un concert à Hambourg et lui procure un contrat avec le label BMG. L..album "Contact Myself" sort en Automne 2000 et se place rapidement à la place 47 des "Charts". L..album obtient de très bonne critiques et les magazines "Stereo Play" et "Audio" couronne Katja Werker meilleure artiste de l..année. Katja travaille 5 longues années à son dernier album "Leave That Thing Behind" soutenu par le label SPV. Le disque, produit et réalisé par Katja elle-même, obtient d..innombrables critiques positives, et est présenté "Live" en 2006 et 2007 dans les plus grandes métropoles allemande.
