Throwing together 60s samples over R&B, hip hop beats and heavy live playing, the stunning combination of Andy Gannon's full-on production and Kojo Vihram's Wonder-esque vocals makes for high-energy Northern Soul for the new generation. It's the usual story of "punk-singer-turned-producer meeting young hot underground R&B singer in a South London bar and deciding to take over the world." They bonded over their shared love of 60s soul: real soul: when soul had soul. That's their kind of music, and the kind of music they wanted to make. So, with a bunch of vinyl and an MPC, they started piecing together the ISLANDAZ sound. Over the last 10 months, they've been locked away in the studio, working, reworking, refining and having fun.
