"King and Country are now Rabbit Hole if not Glastonbury legends...
The Hole was running an hour and a half late, someone had drunk all the beer, the White Rabbit had bolted from his hutch... In to this munted maelstrom of musical mayhem walked King and Country.
I tried my best to sooth them, to get things back on schedule, but even my best efforts could not stand in the way of the weather, and our tipi was leaking.
King and Country finally took to the stage, and almost immediately, for the second time in as many days the mains blew, the tipi was in darkness, and there was no amplification.
Not this, nor the confusion of a double introduction could stop these guys. By the light of a couple of torches, mostly those being used to fix the mains, this band kept the crowd JUMPING for about ten minutes. No one asked them to do that, they could have just walked off stage and warmed up by the fire while we scampered about in the dark and wet playing with live wires, but no, there was a Glastonbury happening.
The drums were unstoppable, mostly due to the fact that when he tried to stop the crowd yelled "MORE DRUMS" in an almost threatening manner until he started again. When the power finally came on we were treated to one of the best sets certainly of the Hole, and in my humble opinion, of the festival itself.
Live music is always best when the artists really mean it, and these guys REALLY meant it. There was none of the polish or pomp of a main stage, this was real live music, from real live musicians.
Thank you King and Country, you are legend!"
