"Spirit of Waste" Goodbye: 1. farewell (a conventional expression used at parting). –noun 2. a farewell. Satellite: 1. Astronomy. a natural body that revolves around a planet; a moon; or star. 2. a device designed to be launched into orbit around the earth, another planet, the sun, etc. Goodbye Satellite: 1. A new rock band from Chicago you need to know featuring ex-members of: Showoff, Miles From Midnight and Saving Face. 2. Goodbye Satellite came together in November 2006, in Chicago, IL. The 3 members of this band—Raul (Vocals/Guitar), Carl (Bass/Vocals) and General Matt (Drums)—came together as friends first, and then with their 3 respective bands calling it quits, they decided to join musical forces. The original name for the band was supposed to be ‘Satellite and the Love Dies,’ which was based upon the idea that if you wished upon the wrong star, all of your wishes would die. They later changed the name to Goodbye Satellite to say that they are leaving behind the false star that is the destroyer of dreams. Ultimately no bad star could deter these three talented artists from setting out to make their wish of making it in the music industry come true. The success of their previous bands, along with the live touring experience that each of these artists brings to the table, gives them a clear idea of what to and not to do this time around, which they hope will bring them to even greater heights than ever before. They put on an energetic live show that leaves everyone not only blown away by the quality of the music, but also feeling like they were actually part of the show. These guys love what they do and it shows when they are on stage performing. All these guys ask is that you close your eyes, open your ears, and listen to the music that they have created for you.
