After playing guitar for several prominent local bands, Russell began writing and stepped up to the mic. After finding his voice with Grammy nominated vocalist, Chrissy Faith, he immersed himself into his music and song writing. Since releasing his debut album “Freshwater” in 2005, Russell has shared the stage with such prominent artists as Augustana, Anna Nalick, Josh Radin, Matt Kearney and more. His unique sound, powerful performances and genuine character have garnered him both local and national radio airplay, and a dedicated Northwest fan base. In 2008, Russell released the much awaited follow-up to Freshwater. Fittingly titled "Between You & I", he continued his efforts to break out of typical singer/songwriter restraints. The album weaves from the pop/rock single "Cheap Wine”, to the all out rocker, "Every time I come down" with a cohesive sound that’s as unexpected as it is unique. Joined by guitarist Kevin Hahn (Animotion, Tri-Polar, Castella), Bassist Dain Ryan (Dirty Little Fingers) and drummer, Jason Fellman, "Between You & I" is a testament to the diverse talent of this young songwriter and band.
