| The ABC of Artist AgencyIn the beginning… At the age of only 12 a teacher asked me what kind of job I wanted to do when I grew old. My answer was that I wanted to become a manager and booker of Music acts. The teacher mocked at me, saying: “That’s not even a real job, daydreamer...” So, at the age of 15, I started as a DJ on local radios. When I turned 18, I started dee-jaying at parties. That became my profession for the next 2 years...Later, I co-founded the Suikerrock festival at Tienen and the Boerenrock festival at Kortenaken. In 1990 I started as the programming director of the Rockwood festival at Lommel. In my promoter experience, I worked with lots of international acts such as: Aztec Camera, Björk, Carmel, Fish, Fishbone, Fischer-Z, Mighty Mighty Bostones, Stone Temple Pilots, Stray Cats, The Scene, Tool, Urban dance Squad, Thelonious Monster...And then… Artist Agency was born! Artist Agency was founded in 1994 in Tienen (Belgium). First we focused on the management of domestic beginning bands including: Flowers For Breakfast, Hooverphonic, Lowpass, neeka, Ozark Henry, The Tribe...In 1998 I moved to Brussels to become a label manager for Oyster Records where I worked with several artists including : Billy Bragg, Fiji, neeka, Ruplestichkin, The Romans, Tom Robinson... I left Oyster Records in the middle of 2000 and restarted as an independent agent and manager.International Acts Artist Agency has worked with before : Alphaville, , Blue Horses , Billy, Bragg, Brendan Croker, Fischer-Z, Hugh Cornwel, Ian Brown, INXS, Kevin Coyne, Midge Ure, Ozric Tentacles, The Hanna Sisters, The Sweet, Tom Robinson.Today, in 2007… Artist Agency is proud that, after 12 years, we’re even more successful than ever! We do almost 150 shows a year has a wealth of experience playing shows at every level, from club shows to big festivals performances. (with capacities of 100 - 25000). We’re well known for our individual theatre tour concepts with concentrated promotion campaigns and long time career planning.
