Arendia(A Brief History)Arendia was formed as a project by Ged Brown in the summer of 2004 with the help of friend and former Narcosis drummer Brody who he had previously worked with in the UK metal outfit Zeus. In February 2005 they recorded their first demo, simply entitled "2005" at John Kettle’s studio in Bamfurlong near Wigan, the demo contained four tracks and was later made available for download from the Arendia myspace site. The demo is still available free on request. In mid-2007 steps were made to make the project into a full band with the addition of guitarists Anthony Couch and Mark Fishwick. Ged moving onto bass as well as continuing with the vocals. After a few months of rehersals, the band would once again enter John Kettle’s studio to record their second demo, their first as a full line-up. Demo 2 "Anglezarke"Free Download!Recorded on the 13th and 14th of March 2008, the bands second demo contains three brand new tracks and a re-recording of Level 4 from the first Arendia demo. Musically a mixture of black and thrash metal with a traditional edge, Anglezarke is inspired by the myths, legends, history and fantasy inspired tales of old England. The title track itself tells the history of a local area of vast barren moorland. Next the band hope to be playing a few live gigs later this year whilst continuing to write new material. The demo is available as a free download by following the following links, it’s probably best to use the Mozilla Firefox browser or a pop-up blocker when downloading as the pop-ups can be annoying!
