| Nato ad Enna il 28 Giugno 1982, innamorato della musica, in ogni sua forma, dal jazz al rock alla fusion, inizia a suonare la chitarra all'età di 16 anni. Diciottenne, decide di iscriversi ai corsi della Guitar Academy (prestigiosa accademia siciliana di chitarra moderna), portando avanti parallelamente gli studi universitari in Scienze della comunicazione. Ha partecipato ai seminari di Jennifer Batten (Catania 2002) , Brett Garsed (Catania 2003) , Massimo Varini (Siracusa 2003 & Catania 2005) , Steve Trovato (Catania 2004) , Richard Smith (Catania 2004 & 2005) , Andrea Braido (Enna 2003) , Steve Giordano Catania 2004 & 2005) , Carl Verheyen (Catania 2005) , Giovanni Mazzarino (Enna 2003) e al corso di Psicofisiologia della Tecnica Strumentale tenuto da Gianfranco Di Mare (Catania 2003). Nell' estate del 2006 ha conseguito il 1° livello di specializzazione in chitarra rock-fusion, frequentando a Siracusa l' ESC (European Summer Campus) , seguendo i corsi di chitarra di Greg Howe e Carl Verheyen e le lezioni di teoria , armonia e ear-training di Andrea Avena. Ha inoltre collaborato alla realizzazione del progetto discografico "Guitar Academy 2007", che vede impegnati sette giovani talenti chitarristici , suonare un brano ciascuno, insieme a cinque brani suonati da Andrea Quartarone , produttore e arrangiatore del disco. Dopo aver conseguito il diploma di primo livello di chitarra rock-fusion, è entrato a far parte del corpo insegnanti della Guitar Academy. E' intensamente impegnato nell'attività dell'insegnamento presso la stessa scuola nelle sedi di Catania e Caltanissetta.Collaborazioni: Kamut (rock-pop band) ; Blue Experience (rock'n' blues coverband) ; Cortocircuito (rockband) ; Radio 70's (rock'n' blues coverband) ; Non Solo Nebbia (rock-pop band) ; Acoustic Trio ; Disco Stu & The Sex Machine(Disco 70's & 80's)Dal vivo è incessantemente impegnato con i 10 HP , rock band che realizza centinaia di concerti ogni anno in tutto il sud Italia. ____________________________________________________________ __Nicola Merlisenna was born in Enna on 28 June in 1982. He is fond of music of all different kinds: jazz, rock, fusion. At the age of 16 he began playing the guitar and at 18 he went on enrolling on Guitar Academy courses ( which is a prestigious Sicilian Academy specialized in modern guitar). At the same time, he kept studying at university in “Scienze della comunicazione”. Moreover, he attended several clinics held by Jennifer Batten (Catania 2002) , Brett Garsed (Catania 2003) , Massimo Varini (Siracusa 2003 & Catania 2005) , Steve Trovato (Catania 2004) , Richard Smith (Catania 2004 & 2005) , Andrea Braido (Enna 2003) , Steve Giordano (Catania 2004 & 2005) , Carl Verheyen (Catania 2005) , Giovanni Mazzarino (Enna 2003). He also attended a course about the Psychophysiology of the Instrumental Technique held by Gianfranco Di Mare. He got the first qualifying degree in rock-fusion guitar. Last Summer (2006), he attended the “ESC” (European Summer Campus), in Siracusa, where he followed the guitar courses held by Greg Howe and Carl Verheyen, and the theoretical, harmonic and ear-training lessons held by Andrea Avena. Furthermore, he contributed to the “Guitar Academy 2007” record project, in which you can find some tracks performed by seven young talented guitarists, in addition to five tracks played by Andrea Quartarone, who is also the producer and the arranger of the record. After the acquisition of the first degree of fusion guitar, he joined the teaching staff at the Guitar Academy. Now, he is intensely engaged in teaching at the same school, in Catania and Caltanisetta centres.
