About Me |
|
| The Bluescasters
were formed in 2004 in Ann Arbor, Michigan by Harry Rodman, Kerry Adams, and Doug Wolgat. With varied perspectives on blues and diverse musical backgrounds, these three quickly developed a unique blend of high energy blues. Mixed with elements of R & B, Rock, Swing Blues, and Americana, the band's style has been well received by audiences throughout Michigan. Since adding a fourth band member, Phil Ryski, in the summer of 2005, the band has released two studio albums. The band members take turns singing lead, and use vocal harmonies to set them apart from other blues bands.       &n bsp      &am p;nbsp   ...an Ann Arbor band on the Detroit blues scene: The Bluescasters Five Dimes and Give Yourself the Blues reached the finals of the Detroit Music Awards "Best Blues/R & B Recording" for 2005 and 2006, respectively. The Band also reached the 2006 finals in the Detroit Music Awards category for "Best Blues/R & B Artist" in 2006. The band performs regularly at concerts, festivals, and nightclubs in the Detroit metropolitan area. The Bluescasters are occaisionally joined by the Xsatiable Horns from Lady Sunshine and the X Band for select performances. The swinging "Black and White", recorded live at the Village Theater (on the above player) is a sample. Special thanks to Lady Sunshine and her fabulous band...one of the best in Michigan! Get out and see them. We would also like to thank the Detroit Blues Society and the West Michigan Blues Society for their continuing effort and support of blues.       &n bsp      &am p;nbsp             &n bsp      &am p;nbsp  ...selected quotes: "The Bluescasters self-released 'Give Yourself the Blues' is a reminder of why Detroit has always been a major blues town" - Mark Gallo "For a good time, call the Bluescasters" - Wolfgang Spider "Their blues...certainly has broad appeal" - Kevin Hill "The Bluescasters are a true stage revelation" - Rootstime Magazine |

The Bluescasters always play to their audience. If the mood is laid back and people are in the romantic slow dance zone, they will be obliged. If foot stomping, guitar slinging rockers are in order, they will be delivered with a passion! When swing dancers hit the dance floor with a desire to flip and spin, The Bluescasters simply set the time machine to 1930 and transport the entire joint to the days when manhattans and long cigarette holders ruled the nightclub scene. The Bluescasters live show experience can't be overstated. Each musician packs thirty plus years of music background into every song. The equipment is top notch, with PA system and mixing skills provided by pro sound and recording engineer, Kerry Adams, from Audio Encounters. The band also provides stage lighting when needed. Interaction with the audience is always the order of the evening and having a good time is guaranteed. The Bluescasters also have great cross-generational appeal ranging from grandkids to grandparents, and everyone in between. They're the perfect band for parties, weddings, and other events, both public and private. Use the following link; www.thebluescasters.comto navigate to the official Bluescasters website.
