I'm a free spirit, always finding creative ways to satisfy my thirst for life. Early on in my life I did not understand it to be worth living. In the words of my favorite poet, LANGSTON HUGHES: "Life for me ain't been no crystal stair." However, (thanks be to God) I am an amazing woman with a dynamic story to tell. It is one of overcoming sexual abuse, physical abuse, rape, molestation, low self esteem, bulimia, and anorexia--and by the grace of God and because of God's all powerful and all encompassing LOVE, I can still smile, I can still love, and I yet have room to love deeper & harder, but more than anything, I still have joy!!! BEFORE, I am anything, I am a Christian! A follower and vessel of the one who saved and sent me. I am grateful to be CHOSEN for such a time as this. I am living in my EXHALE! "REIN" is my artist name. Artistically speaking: I am a fashion designer, "model," and actress, as well as a poet and neo-Inspirational artist (singer/songwriter) bringing something unique and dynamic to the Gospel Music industry and world at large. Please check out my music page to learn more about that part of my life. However, in the context of this my personal page, I was born Heireina Patrei. The woman behind the name is a community activist, a minister, a teacher, philosopher (at heart), theologian(at heart), parent, motivational speaker, writer, and down-to-earth kind of gal. I have a zest for life and an unquenchable thirst and desire to help others become their BEST selves. I do that through all types of ministry and volunteering and activism from artistic to political climates. Underestimated? Yes in deed. At a glance, I am a pretty face who is not supposed to be intellectual, anointed, theologically reflective, philosophically astute, or gifted. But the great "I AM" gave some apostles, some, teachers, some evangelists...(and the list is long) to the planet. I am blessed to be among them--one of MANY. Not every pretty girl is absent of intelligence and anointing. To assess us differently is an insult to our mothers, their mothers before them, our ancestors, activists, artists, philosophers, disciples, educators, politicians, heritage, daughters, and the list goes on. Those that choose to see with a spiritual eye will come to know. I've learned to resist the urge to prove myself and to just BE! I've also learned that the stereotypical assumptions of the world will exist for an host of reasons. However, my light proves the exception and what will soon be the rule. My beautiful sisters: let's give them something postive to talk about other than our assets. You are DIAMONDS! Let's shine! We can be sexy and sensual in the right contexts and STILL be bigger than our bodies give us credit for! Think on that and let's shift the paradigm! Back to the heart of the matter: I am most grateful for my community out reach, in particular, to youth both in the foster care system, and in the community at large. Having come THROUGH what I have, I share my story(ies) often, in hopes that they might see that one's past or present does not decide their future. They call it motivational speaking...I call it sharing my testimony. While I participate in religious activity (as I believe STRONGLY in the fellowship of the saints and church communities) I am not "religious." Before anyone cringes...I simply mean I am not attached to " the stuff of religion" as much as I am attached to Christ, so I do what Christ leads me to do and find my hands set at work for HIM. Fortunately, I am connected with church communities that have like vision. I believe in inspiration and motivation and often give it/share it as it comes to me in whatever format my Spirit calls for. It is designed as a networking tool for me to connect with others across the planet that are positive, spiritual, activists. persons with stories, persons who know VICTORY, and persons interested in making a difference on the PLANET and walking in their destinies..........and lastly--just looking for a really cool gal to connect with :). It seeps from my pores, runs down my chin, drips in my lap and rests deep within the core of my being. I come alive at the mere thought of it. A world without music is void of life, spirit, and energy. I also love reading, silence, sunrises, sunsets, beaches, seafood, ice cream, cotton candy, movies, roller coasters, long naps, hot chocolate, DIVINE revelation, prayer, romance, meditation, massage, family, and so many other good things. As I said, I love life and continue to learn to see the blessing in it everyday and in the "little" things.
