| Astrid was born and raised in Antwerp Belgium. Her interest in music was evident at the early age of five, when she started playing classical violin. She trained with violin teacher Dejan Miljajev through her teens. This resulted in many live concert appearances throughout Europe, as well as appearances on European television shows. Early in 2007 Astrid turned her musical interests to contemporary music. Subsequently Astrid contracted producer and songwriter Rob Giles, to collaborate on her debut "classic" rock and roll album of original material called Taking Over.
