betarecords.com/boombits BOOM BITS is an NY laboratory of scientific misfits bent on carving grooves into the skull that will enable the cerebellum to traverse outside of the norma human threshold into the unknown realms of consciousness.Originally formed in a city being rebuilt, the Boom Bits flourished into a funky force of nature to groove the great unwashed. Being influenced by everything under the sun, from 30's swing jazz to classic soul to current giants like the Roots and Tribe, these boys have come to drip music all over your labedo. The brainchild of MC Anonymous (Reggie Reyes) and bassplayer Kyle McEwen began, and soon found Miles Moran, drummer and grand inquisitor, wandering the streets searching for his missing drumstick. They soon recruited members of funk/afrobeat outfit Djibouti, Rob Lieberfarb on the keys, and Kevin "Hot Licks" Quattrocci on the guitar. Of course, this group was soon joined by the charismatic percussionist, RayBoogie, and the Boom Bits were born. Fuming all over the city with so much funk, it makes say, "damn, thats funky."
