| CDBaby link for The Copperheads: COLD MISSISSIPPI Been knocking out righteous Country-Soul music since 1998. We provide a distinct alternative to today's Alt-Country & Americana groups because we're usually trying to put a R & B groove to our "country" songs and add country harmonies to our soul-inflected numbers. Lyrically, we're more for Smokey Robinson than Johnny Cash. But we look for the unusual angle of romance, its entanglements, and its end. We also have a strong penchant for Gospel numbers, usually 'black' gospel. It's got all the energy of rock 'n' roll with perhaps more depth & practical purposes. Over the past few years, we've made the stage a better place for Shooter Jennings, Jack Ingram, Charlie Robison, Rosie Flores, the Iguanas, Chris Scruggs, Wanda Jackson, Randy Weeks, Percy Sledge, Junior Brown... even the Oak Ridge Boys & Ty Herndon.
