| Samantha East
Singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist; Samantha was born in Dagenham, Essex and has been writing songs since the age of fifteen, playing the guitar since she was ten and singing before she could even walk. She has grown up listening to a wide range of music, from Pink Floyd to Stevie Wonder, to The Drifters. Samantha comes from a very musical family and as a result, has always been surrounded by all types of musical influences, which infused her passion for music. The diversity of her musical upbringing has enabled her to appreciate all genres of music and has instilled in her a love for them all. Her tastes are reflected in the music that she likes to write, being described as Indie, Soft Rock and Soul. Her vocals have been described as soulful with a Blues and Folk edge. “I write mainly what I feel. For me it’s a feeling of freedom, and without it I would never have been able to overcome certain obstacles in my life. Each of my songs represents a part of my life. It is hard for me to write a song for myself, based on something that I haven’t experienced. This has enabled me to write music that people can relate to on a personal level.” Samantha is currently co-writing and recording with musician/producer, Nixon Rosembert, who has helped to further develop her performance, writing, guitar and vocal skills. Samantha and Nixon are the nucleus of the live act, which can perform the songs acoustically or with a complete line up. |
