| Sammy D (Guitar) Jimmy K (Bass) Steve (Beats) Dan (Vocals/Guitar) Ray (Sax) Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls… Roll up, Roll up, for the oh so Delightfully Middle-Class, Noiseical Orgy that is… SMILING IVY. Fresh from the rambling hills and wood-smoked gypsy land that is the ‘Shire, we’ve now picked up Mr Raymundo Mysterio, and his jolly Sexyphone on our quest for enlightenment. Former piccolo player and contraband-pharmaceutical-salesman of the neighbouring Eco-Warrior camp, we half-inched him, his supplies and his Sax to become Smiling Ivy… the 5 piece! As is the way of the world tho my friend: When you find something special, you’re bound to get bitten in the bollox sometime soon. Thus, we’ve been turfed out of our beloved Carpet Warehouse, where so much magic has happened over the years, as it is being turned into a Cash & Carry… yep… really! It’s all good tho, we’ve now sorted ourselves a pukka little party pad in Crookes-ville, Sheffield. Beautiful house, cheap rent, available straight away… On to a winner we thought! However they sure as fuck didn’t mention the resident ghost in the inventory! The bloody thing’s constantly vandalising, staining the carpets, burning the sofa’s, leaving floaters and urinating through the letterbox of our super-natural neighbours (swear down, those guys could hear a wasp fart from two miles away). So brothers and sisters keep an eye out for the IVY, our highly-public-spirited, and very late night, community art, Shteevie Mc Drum with his head-full of hair & hands full a flyers and be sure to keep you’re third eye looking out for the full fat, funky fresh, genuine article that is ‘FILTHO-NASTRO!’ The first album will be ready and pressed for the summer.
