BIOGRAPHY The Skelters are a band since 2003. Skelters Sound is their genre of music, every other definition could restricts them in a stereotiped classification..... Music is free and it can changes because of time, people, technologies: it’s an individual expression of feelings, is uncertain and impossible to be classified. Once upon the time... The Layland was the Skelters’ former name. They won the Chek Sound Contest in 2000, wher other 8 bands were in competition.Their winner song was recorded in a compilation sponsored by Heineken and entitled “Sound Check”. Thanks to many concerts around the south of Italy, the Skelters increased their success playing during the S. Silvester Night (2000) in the Masciari Theatre in Catanzaro and the next day opening the Jeff Spencer and his blues band’s concert . On april 2001 the Layland recorded their first demo as a promo cd: The Layland 2001. ....Many changes from that time: the drummer, the bassist, songs’ genre and first of all their band’s name. ....you dressed so fine: THE SKELTERS! Louis, Emanuele, Giuseppe The Skelters won the Sound Check Contest in 2000 sponsorized by Heineken beer. November 2006: Arezzo Wave Contest, they are finalists March 2006: Pistoia blues Contest: semifinalists January 2007: Alex becomes a member of the band as solist guitar March 2007: Italia Wave Love Festival: finalists 29 July 2007: They played at The Naturalmente Festival, Mephisto Records Celebration Day, Rimini, Italy 26 AUGUST 2007: THEY PLAYED AT THE DUBLIN CASTLE, CAMDEN TOWN LONDON. Their Idles: The Beatles, The Who, The Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Oasis, Blur ... Influences: Rock'n'roll, punkrock, Beat, Brit Pop Dreams: as every other band we have a dream ... but the greatest is realized everytime we can play and sing in peace, dreaming about love, life, feelings!
