| I May Day nascono nel gennaio 2003: Pacio alla batteria, Gabo alla chitarra e voce, e Peciu al basso e voce. Già da subito decidono di accantonare le cover per dare spazio ad idee proprie! Già nel settembre 2003 decidono di registrare un cd di 8 pezzi, contenente anche come traccia nascosta (l’unica cover) la canzone “Fievel sbarca in america” tratta dal cartone animato di Spielberg. Questo primo cd è stato registato al “suta sound studio” da Sem Cigna (cd completamente autoprodotto). Nel giro di metà anno hanno raggiunto buoni traguardi suonando con Meganoidi, Bambole di pezza su palchi importanti come quello del Babylonia di Biella e Transilvania live. Nel giugno 2004 si aggiudicano il premio come miglior band del Biella music contest (rassegna che ha ospitato 24 gruppi biellesi e giudicati da musicisti professionisti locali) A fine 2004 decidono di chiudersi in studio per il nuovo cd, proprio quest’ultimo segna il cambiamento dei May Day. Questi decidono di registrare in Dracma (TO). A registrazione avvenuta gli viene proposto un management dalla Dracma (www.dracma.com) , che oltre ai May Day si occupa dei Medusa Il 2005 è stato dedicato alla promozione dell’ultimo cd “…Come Ieri” anche con la presenza di gruppi importarti come Punkreas (al Babylonia) e Medusa (all’Hiroshima TO), Thee STP. Pezzi dei May Day sono presenti in Punk e contaminazioni vol III (Sana Records) ed in INDIE BOX COMPILATION VOL. 1 |
