Myspace Editor Pimp MySpace We are Wickerman & Fisherman, we hold the keys to our own houses, the Wickerman eats Scottish policemen and the Fisherman eats mainly food. We entertain the belief of J. C. B. Gosling that hedonism of one kind or another has a perennial attraction. An evaluation of arguments for or against it requires a thorough examination of the concept of pleasure and its relation to that of wanting. Like Gosling we feel that most recent treatments have suffered from over-simplification. We are in agreement with him that the ties between pleasure, wanting and enjoyment do not serve a hedonist's purpose. Yet the present discussion shows that recent dismissals of hedonism have been too cavalier, and suggests that hedonists have in fact been feeling their way towards points of some importance for ethics. The argument raises the question of what claims to conceptual priority or centrality might amount to, and some brief suggestions are made on this point.As Capricorns we may appear sombre and reserved in our dealings with others, but once we give the trust, we are loyal and steadfast friends. Socially oriented, we are willing to work hard for anything we want, and our self-esteem is extremely important to us. We are bright and quick. We are good in detail as well as in insight and conceptual formulation. We are materialistic rather than philosophical.
