| Manuel Belli started playing and performing in Milan in the early 80 influenced by blues, rhythm and blues, rock, and reggae.
He started writing original music from the first released album in Milano in 1983 with his own rock band.
He has since then worked recorded and toured as a sideman with many international and Italian groups, bands and orchestras. Jimmy Hendrix, Jeff Beck,and Jimy Page were amongs his earliest musical influence.
He than studied at the CPM music college in Milano where his interests among jazz started.
He moved to London for a couple of years in the late 80 performing and producing music.Heavy influenced by classical music from Bach to Segovia to contemporary and avant-garde music (Frank Zappa, Pierre Boulez, Brian Eno John Cage) MB also played his personal tribute to the great manuche guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt with his gipsy trio he later formed with guitarists Alessandro Russo (Rome) and Umberto Rossi (Milan).Today he’s a music teacher at the AMM national school in Modena and author of guitar methods on blues and rock guitar.
His later work shows an increasing effort towards the research on sound, ambient, and composition.
As a composer his effort is toward breaking the cage of form, with auto generative music, and improvisation, balanced with the classical writing approach.
A sort of Zen process to “look for the stars, but walking on earth”He recently wrote "Music for paintings" for painter and photographer Peter Seelig Vienna exhibition "Intensity". A double cd series of 16 song one for each painting.
