Car Oumar Thiam possède une voix exceptionnelle dont la tessiture rappelle les grandes figures de la soul et une capacité rare à émouvoir.

Mais le décès inopiné du patron de Warner qui le signa brise l'élan de la maison de disque et l'album, en partie produit par Handle Tucker, ne sort pas. Oumar délaisse alors les grosses productions et se recentre sur une écriture dépouillée, faisant davantage place à l'émotion et à l'authenticité.

C'est cette démarche qui prévaut actuellement au travail de préparation de son deuxième album.

En attendant, écoutez-le seul ici à la guitare, livrant à nu cette voix incroyable, la puissance de son écriture et toute la mesure de son exceptionnel talent.

ENGLISHOumar Thiam came from Sierra Leone to Paris where he now lives. As soon as arrived in France, everybody fell for this stunning singer: Warner signed him up immediately, major French artists such as Akhenaton wrote French lyrics for him, Youssou N'Dour recorded with him and invited him to open shows on his French Tour. As a matter of fact, Oumar has the kind of voice made up of some of the best that was heard during the Motown years, together with a rare capacity to put feelings across and touch people.

But the unforeseen death of the Warner CEO who signed him up stopped the process at once, and the album, partially produced by Handel Tucker, was left unreleased. Oumar then turned away from the big productions, refocusing on a more authentic and unsophisticated approach of his music that makes more room for simple but nevertheless deep emotions.

This is the perspective in which Oumar is now currently working on his second album.
