After that I kind of backtracked for a while and listened more to Bowie, Springsteen, Neil Young, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Hendrix, Dylan, Dire Straits, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Simon & Garfunkel, Tom Waits, Counting Crows, Tracy Chapman, Nick Cave. As far as lyrics go, like most people, I get influenced by what goes on around me and in the world, but also by singers and bands like Dylan, Petty, Chapman, Cave, Bad Religion.
