Cerberus was founded in the winter of 1998. The founding members were Beleth, Bin Alder, Sascha T., Melko and Jan B.. After being planned as a Melodic Death Metal band, Cerberus soon turned out to be a Black Metal band because of the influences Bin Alder and Beleth brought into the band.
The year of 1999 almost meant the end for Cerberus. The band did not move forwards and that caused the decision to quit Cerberus but there was an offer for a very first concert which the band members wanted to realize before quitting Cerberus. On stage everything except Bin Alder felt good with Cerberus again and so they decided to carry on.
Only Bin Alder left and so Cerberus were in search of a new drummer. Astrega joined and is still a member of the band even until today. Short after Cerberus signed to Schwarzdorn Productions which released a Live MCD of the first concert in 2000 which is called "First Destruction". This release is sold out today!
The band was offered more and more concerts and worked on new material. In 2003 Cerberus released their first album called "Chapters of Blackness" and it can still be orderered via some mailorders. Two shirts have also been printed, one can buy them from Schwarzdorn.
In 2005 Schwarzdorn got offered to release videoclpis of the label's bands on a broadcaster called Whiplash TV. The label took that chance and that's the reason why there is a video to the song "Was war vergeht" which has already been show in public television.
Further there was a radio station that wanted to send some of Schwarzdorns music. They also made an interview with Cerberus.
In early 2006 the new album called Klagelieder - Grabgesang has been unleashed.
