| I am currently in the Kraft trio. We work mainly in the casinos in Atlantic City but also do shows, private parties, corporate parties and weddings. We just had an ad in Billboard Magazine's A Year in Music 2006. Susan Salmon... I have been studying music all my life. I grew up in the Greater Northeast in Philadelphia. Studied piano with my mother from age 3. Studied mandolin at Beck's Music at age 7. Studied piano with Carol Wardoch,(a renown movie score writer in New York) at age 12. Joined first wedding band (Take FIVE) as a keyboard player-singer at age 15. Played in various rock bands,(Ocean) (as singer-keyboardist). Then was offered a job to sing in Las Vegas at age 19. Played the Las Vegas scene for about a year. Back in Philly, joined an all girl rock band (Cheetah) as lead guitarist.Studied guitar with Dave Strong and Billy Zapposodi. Studied guitar with local jazz heroes, Joe Federico, Al Stouffer and Jimmy Bruno (recently) We opened up for recording artists, The Romantics, The A's, Scandal. We also did a tour in Italy, Greece, Spain, Bahrain, Turkey, with the U.S.O. for three months. During this time I also did some studio work for various artists. Joined a top 40 band(Live Wire) as the lead guitarist. We played some casino work at The Taj Mahal, and Trump's Marina.( In Atlantic City). We toured the eastern seaboard. In 1994 Michael Kraft asked me to join him at Resort's Casino. I have been working with him since. Two years ago, we added 1 more to our duo and became a trio. Alex DePue(National Fiddling Champion) played with us for a few months, after he left we hired Catherine Boyd .We recorded our 2nd C.D. you can here some of it hereand on ourWeb-site Krafttrio.com. Now we have been joined with the talented, Kelly Halloran.We are looking forward to recording our 3rd C.D. with vocals. I have been teaching music for 17 years at various places; Chet's Music Center, Sunset Music and the Manayunk School of the Arts. (Piano, guitar and mandolin) I am currently studying violin with Wallace DePue and have studied with Alex DePue(2 of 4 brothers that have played in the Philadelphia Orchestra.) | |
