******* I was born in Anniston, AL on December 19, 1948.
As a child, for entertainment, I would listen to old 45 and 78 rpm records of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and many other great artists of the day. The “rockabilly” sound was my favorite and was a huge influence on me wanting to play the guitar and to perform in public. At the age of sixteen, I bought my
first guitar and started taking lessons. After learning some chords and a few hundred songs, I was ready to hit the stage. Me and a high school friend formed a band called the “DecAdes”, playing music of the 50’s and 60’s. Music and performing was now in
my blood. In 1970, I married my high school sweetheart and started raising a family so the music was put on “hold” for a while. During the early part of the 70’s, me along with wife Judy formed a gospel trio called “The Believers”. Our eldest son, began playing guitar at
the age of nine and developed a tremendous musical talent. Somewhere around the mid 80’s, the band “Flashback” was formed with my son and the music continued. I have been playing almost continuous since and have played with Bobby Edwards, who had a # 1 hit in 1961 called “You’re The Reason”. Currently, I am managing my grandson’s band and enjoy recording in my home recording studio and
still playing at every possible opportunity. I am a member of the Alabama Country & Gospel Music Association and am currently working in the studio with duet partner, Stacey Barnes. |
