There will be a rehearsal this Saturday, 6.16.07, at IPC. The Irvine Young Artists Orchestra was founded in the year 2005 by local Irvine artists Albert Wu and Mischa Lakirovich. The vision for the orchestra is: 1. Create a meaningful, educational musical experience where individual attention is offered to every student. 2. The exploration of key orchestral playing techniques and repertoire found in the Late Baroque and in the Early Classical musical movements. 3. Engage children to explore their talents and passions for music while raising awareness to great social causes, embracing diversity, and helping to bridge differences between cultures and continents. 4. Allowing Irvine children to serve their community and be recognized for their contribution while dedicating themselves to their college aspirations. We perform for and support the American Cancer Society, DARE and other drug intervention programs, senior centers and hospitals across the OC and the greater Southern California region. We sponsor ‘kids who care’ fund raising organizations and host musical events with local and national non-profit organizations. |
