About Me |
|
| Annika got an early start in illustration-as a girl growing up in Sweden, she made thin line drawings in ink pen after gazing through the hundreds of comics that lay in huge piles here and there in her family's house. Her formal training in the arts came later, when she first studied at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest, then print at Hovedskou School of Art in Gothenburg, Sweden.Annika's illustrations of girls are fashionable and often a bit mysterious. Their combination of innocent allure and vintage style eludes classification into a particular trend while transcending national boundaries. In 2005, Annika recieved a grant for her work from Swedish society of illustrators, and that same year, her lovely girls and illustrations of fashion accessories were featured in Tokyo in a show titled "Portraits of Girls" at Gallery Lele.At the same time she has worked for major clients in Europe and the United States, Annika's popularity has recently taken off in Japan. In 2006, "Portraits of Girls" traveled to the Saito Gallery in Sapporo, Japan, and Annika also participated in a group exhibition titled "Fashion Fantasy" in Oita, Japan. One of her clients is the Japanese brand FANCL, for whom Annika illustrated a series of limited-edition cosmetic packages. These became so popular that they were all quickly selling out in Tokyo.../Text from www.cwc-i.com/....Annika's clients also include Anna Sui, Vogue Nippon, Kiehl's, NK (Nordiska Kompaniet, Knoll International, Glamour Sweden, Elle UK, Mudpuppy, Nordic Light Hotel, Chronicle Books, BUST, Tidenwww.annikawester.com www.cwc-i.com www.cwctokyo.com ! | |
