| The combination of a tight-knit, driving rhythm section powered by bassist Alex Holmes and drummer Mike Yantha, melodic-yet-progressive guitar riffs provided by Fraser Holmes and Jordan Rutledge, and the energetic stage show of front man Grant Gooley are the Five musicians now recognized as The Prefect.The Prefect was formed in November of 2006 when Grant parted ways with his former group, Ottawa rockers 'Fluid', who then joined forces with Alex, Fraser and Mike as their Renfrew-based band ‘Makeshift’ had disbanded a few months prior.With inspiration stemming from a wide variety of musical backgrounds, The Prefect strives to create a sound that grabs and doesn’t let go. With a self-titled 8-track mini album already under their belts, the guys didn’t waste any time on putting the next one together. With the help of a thousand monkeys on typewriters, the band is busy writing like madmen for volume II, with hopes of releasing something totally eargasmic in second quarter of ’08.This is shaping up to be a big year for the band and they want all of you to be a part of it with them, so keep your eyes & ears peeled for upcoming shows and try to catch as many as you can...
