Music:Member Since: 1/20/2007Band Members: Influences: One of the first female singers I heard live who really moved me was Suzie Vinnick. I heard her sing at a jam at Bud's on Broadway and thought what a great voice and what power! When I started singing the blues I was greatly influenced by Etta James, Ruth Brown, Irma Thomas, Koko Taylor, Rita Chiarelli and Susan Tedeshi. I also fell in love with Memphis Minnie, Dinah Washington and Sippie Wallace when I was preparing for an acoustic blues showcase. Type of Label: None |
