| My name, as you can see, is Josephine, or Jo to most people that I know! Im 21 although my lil baby face may make you think otherwise! I know it sounds cliche but I really have been singing since I can remember. One of the first songs that I sung making my family realise I could sing was,The Righteous Brothers "Unchained melody" a big song for such a lil girl I know! lol. I have always had a passion for music as I feel it is one of the most expressive art forms I know. You can have an instant recognition with a song and understand and/or relate to it before you've even heard the whole thing.......................................................
........Coming from a mixed heritage (My mama White [or caucasian...whatever] and my father Jamaican) I have grown up with an interest in a variety of styles of music across cultures which can be heard in my vocals. From a young age I listened to Mariah Carey and admired her for both her vocals and her lyrics. My first compilation tape (yep we going back to the tapes!) was Swing Sisters.....................................................
.......................As I said I have always been singing but only started writing when I got to around 11/12 years old. These where mostly poems tho as I felt I could write more thouroughly about my emotions in a lyrical form that didnt have a melody. Slowly I started changing my poems into songs and then writing them from scratch with a little encouragement from certain people that where producing beats at the time. I grew up in Northolt, West London and now I live in South east London studying my degree..................................................
Im an easy goin lady with nothing but future success on my mind. I try to keep a positive mentality about everything I do so im always on a level. Being a Gemini I cant be content with just one talent!!!! I also act and I enjoy dancin' it up! I will always be the last and first person on the dance floor (Apart from tj, ma main chica!)-theres no use fightin' it!!!!!!!!!!!!..............................................
