About Me |
|
Hola, and welcome to my “MYSPACE ” page! If you have been here before, you may notice that I have changed my writing from third person to first. My name is Ana Maria Cruz Herrero, aka Ana Herrero. I'm half Panamanian and half Puertorrican, or as some of my friends would say, a really spicy dish! Everyone has a story, as for mine, here goes, well at least part of it. When people ask me how it is that I ended up in this scene, I have to say that I was discovered by DJ/Producer Atsuo Gutierrez Marengo aka Tom Sawyer in 2006. At the time, I was singing covers with a live band as a hobby during weekends and Tom approached me and asked if I wanted to sing for him. I agreed instantaneously, and in between bad Chinese food, cheap beer, and a pen and paper, we came up with my first three songs, “Acid Veins”, “Give Me a Chance” and “On My Mind”. I always thought that I could sing, I started playing the piano at a very early age, (if you ever look at my photo album from when I was a child, about 85% of the pictures are of me singing or at least trying to) but it is now that I can truly say that as the days go by, the more "singing" becomes my passion and way of life. I was born and raised in Panama City, Panama where I did everything from dancing classical ballet to dissecting insects at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute -trust me, the gap from those two grows enormously, and I'm not about to list all of the in-between, but if you really want to know, ask me. I lived in Panama until I was seventeen years old, and then moved to Puerto Rico where I completed a B.B.A., with a double major in Human Resources and Management. After graduating with magna cum laude honors, I moved back to Panama City where I began my studies in Law School. In between school and extracurricular activities, I hosted the highly viewed fashion and music television show called Moda, INC. After a long run, I decided that it was time to try something different. I used a ticket that I won at a Karaoke contest and got myself a one way ticket to New York City, where I currently attend NYU for a Master of Science in Non-Profit Management/Philanthropy and Fundraising. Once in New York, my passion for those who are less fortunate led to a position at the City’s Cabrini Medical Center. When the medical center was closed, I moved on to working at two professional, nonprofit associations. In 2008 I became the Director of Corporate Services at Fair Winds Trading, Inc., where I am fortunate to also serve as spokesperson representing the company :) It’s a setting in which all of my experience in business, philanthropy and the arts combine to advance the mission of sustainable economic development in places far removed from New York City. I'm also active with several health-related nonprofit organizations and Involved Events, along with DJ Sasha, Steve, Richard, Malik, Shari and many others that dedicate their valuable time into making Involved a huge success. As far as my music goes, I'll definitely keep you posted ;) Xoxo, Ana Herrero You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor ! |
