| Welcome to the world of Elizabeth Jay! I decided to set up a My Space page as this would be a great way to communicate with others around this largely interesting planet. Well, here goes................. I was born at Wordsley hosptial and am currently living in Stourbridge where my retired parents are also stationed. My 37 year old brother is a Dr of philosophy in Astro-physics, living in L.A with his family. My 33 year old sister lives in Scotland with her B.A pilot husband and 5 year old son.....SO PROUD! My major passion in life is music. It has been a real personal saviour and always will be. I am currently working towards being a DJ, focusing on playing funky/vocal/disco/electro house. I am also working on some musical projects in the studio, based in Stratford-Upon-Avon with music producer Stoney (www.theunknown.com) I have been since September 2007, working as the in house 'Club Promoter' for Birmingham's most prestigious & glamorous night club 'BAMBU'(China Town, 10pm-3am, www.bambubar.co.uk...Funky/Vocal House & R'n'B) I have a real passion for anything that is orientated around dance music or music in general. As a club events marketing & P.R manager, which involves much production, have currently created two super fresh club events 'Fabrique' & '4SEASONS'. I am highly ambitious, hard working, extremley creative and totally buzz off implementing & promoting fantastic parties for everyone to enjoy! I have been involved within the clubbing industry for over 11 years, gaining great inspiration from many aspects as i distrubuted different roles starting as a freestyler & backing dancer for live P.A's, UK & International tour dancer & Club P.R girl @ Miss Money Pennys, dance manager @ Gods Kitchen, DJ manager & Artist Tour Manager of DJ Fergie (Radio One 2003-2004)and am also the founder of 'Excentric' club parties. I was educated at Crestwood High in the West Midlands, then continuing on at Stourbrdige College and later achieving a B.A Honours Degree (2.2) at Wolverhampton University in Sport Science, Sport studies and Dance Studies. Since University, i have pursued a career in modelling, professional dancing, even a music pop band called 'E2' based in London (2002)and my vocal coach at the time is now the amazing Number One Classical artist Katherine Jenkins. I also have experience in TV presenting, and still work within the modelling & promotions industry. In 2005 my dance agent(The I.T Girls, London)offered me a 2 month contract to perform all over China. I was based in Shanghai and worked for an entertainments company called 'Shineplus'. We would tour to 2/3 different distinations a week across China. I fell in love with the Chinese culture and the people immediately. I ended up staying for 6 months after signing another contract. Some shows i would host/sing/dance/& even DJing came into the spectrum. I was given the opportunity to be a production director for 3 main events in Shanghai, where i introduced the concept of a Live Radio broadcast from the number one Shanghai Chinese Radio station and my club event in a club in central Shanghai. The concept had not ever been considered before due to the political issues (2005). Having worked around Radio One in London and other stations, thought it was a great idea to aim at influencing the Shanghai people about dance music and the clubbing culture which was expanding rapidly, through the use of radio.It was hard at first to convience the chinese radio associates about my music concept. I wrote the radio scripts and was the english presenter, even applied a voice over for the radio jingles! The adventure was totally amazing and was a life changing experience. Music:I like all types of music from hard house to classical music. My main interests is dirty & rock electro with some vocals and funky beats. Also i enjoy funky house, techno, with the appreciation of many styles of dance music. Currently working with electro style sounds in the studio which ROCKS! My major musicial influences have been 'Left Field', Blondie, Miss Kitten, Feliz Da House cat, DJ FERGIE, Eddie Haliwell, Sonique, Danni Minogue, Gold Frapp, Jean Michael Jarre, Eurthymics. Some of my favourite artists are Madonna, Snow Petrol, James Morrison, Graceland - Tears for Fears, AHA, Paul Simon, Queen, Talk Talk, RUSH, Scorpians,Tracy Chapman, Enigma, Enya, Jamiroquai, Michael Jackson and many 80s tracks and acoustic artists as I am currently learning to play acoustic guitar. Movies:I am a movie boffin and enjoy all types of film; from action packed, horror, comedies,favourites being the Goonies, Nacho Libra - Jack Black, Napolian Dyamite, Zoolander/Wedding Crashers/Dodge Ball/Blades of Glory, The Business, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas/Blow - Johnny Depp, Snatch, Human Traffic, All of the Alien movies, The Fog (1st Edition), Chain Saw Masacar (1st Ed), Hostel, House of Wax, etc. I really love my regular cinema trips out! |
