| I Rolling Gangsters nascono nel 2005 dalle ceneri di due storiche band, Rod Sacred ed Elefante Bianco. Inizialmente la band trova difficoltà a trovare il giusto assetto. Solo nel 2006 approda ad un a più definitiva line-up che si presenta il 15 dicembre al Transilvania Live di Cagliari come ospite speciale, fuori gara, alla finale del concorso isolano per gruppi emergenti “Sottosuoni”. Subito dopo questa data l’organico della band subisce un’ulteriore variazione: Con questa nuova Line-up I rolling Gangsters trovano una sintonia perfetta ed iniziano il loro primo tour organizzato da Vox Day sotto la supervisione di Davide Catinari.Alla fine di Luglio 07 esce un mni cd contenente tre brani, registrati ai vintage studio di Sant' Antioco ed un Mastering di Marti Jane Robertson, prodotto dai Rolling Gangsters e Davide Catinari for K-Factor.L’attuale line-up comprende: • Joe Dog: voce (noto personaggio storico del rock isolano, vedi Joe Perrino & The Mellowtones, Elefante Bianco e altri). • Gianluigi Carta: chitarra (ex Hydra-0 e attualmente militante negli OUT). • Fausto Pisano: chitarra (ex Elefante Bianco). • Franco Onnis: basso (fondatore della storica formazione metal Rod Sacred e attualmente militante nei Doctor Zep). • Riccardo Sedda: batteria (ex componente dei Rod Sacred). I Rolling Gangster propongono una sorta di rock & roll stradaiolo con influenze eterogenee derivanti dalle diverse esperienze dei cinque componenti (metal, punk, hard-rock, cross over...). Il loro sound è certamente influenzato da band come AC/DC, Motorhead, Black Flag, Led Zeppelin, ecc. In ottimo stile rock & roll i versi delle loro canzoni affrontano, talvolta in chiave ironica, tematiche quali la vita di strada, l’amore, il sesso, il sociale. Il prossimo progetto dei RG è la realizzazione di un mini cd per farsi conoscere oltremare ed attirare l’attenzione degli addetti ai lavori con lo scopo di tirare su un po’ di soldi e, come recita una delle canzoni dei “Gangsters” (“Get a starship”), comprare un’astronave per lasciare l’ormai fottuto pianeta Terra! |
