| Gruppo storico della provincia di Roma, l'Officina Meccanica merita una citazione perchè. a giudicare dal singolo Bambini innocenti e dal filmato televisivo prodotto all'epoca, sarebbero potuti diventare un gruppo molto importante se avessero potuto incidere un album.Il gruppo ha pubblicato cinque singoli, i primi tre sull'etichetta Picci, che ha anche prodotto La Seconda Genesi. Il loro genere univa influenze di rock fiatistico (la formazione comprendeva un sassofonista ed un trombettista) come in Stranger in his country o Signora Marisa, con un genere prog dalle atmosfere drammatiche, come nella meravigliosa Bambini innocenti o in Un prato e poi sognare.Il gruppo si sciolse nel 1978, e tre dei musicisti (Maiozzi, Barbati e Bentivegna) formarono il gruppo rock Stazione Termini con tre altri componenti, a cui si aggiunse nel 1985 anche l'ex bassista dell'Officina Meccanica, Randolfo Canini e il figlio Alessandro.
A breve (luglio2007) uscirà un Cd dell'OFFICINA MECCANICA contenente la storia del gruppo e ben 4 brani (suite) LIVE inediti.
