Try the ..I Folkstone sorsero agli inizi dell’anno domini 2005 dallo incontro che Ferro e Lore ebbero con un loro vecchio compare di sbronze pugliese chiamato Foresi. L’intento di codesta marmaglia fu quello di riportare in vita antiche sonorità immergendole in un intruglio di rock idromelico. Nel primo anno la band cercò di trovare un’intesa ispirandosi alla scena folk metal d’oltralpe pur rimanendo ancorati ad una strumentazione elettrica tradizionale. Verso la fine dell’anno, Lore, armato di insistente determinazione, persuase l’amico saltimbanco Teo ad imbracciare, prima il baghèt, e poi la cornamusa medievale ed insieme cominciarono con tal strumento a cimentarsi fra ance e bordoni. Sempre Lore, con la sua proverbiale “determinazione”, esortò Angelino ad entrare nei folkstone come chitarrista ufficiale, completando la line up insieme a Roby alla terza cornamusa e bombarde e Andrea alle percussioni. I Folkstone erano pronti a comporre di loro mano brani che miscelavano la potenza del metal, l’ancestralità delle cornamuse, il millenario fascino della musica popolare. Cominciarono così le esibizioni della band tra giocolieri, sputafuoco, libagioni, vino e super metalfolk riscuotendo applausi e consensi dalla gente incuriosita ed esaltata.Folkstone is an Italian folk metal band from Bergamo. The idea was born from Lorenzo, Ferro and Forese, who wanted to bring back to life ancient melodies and put them in a metal key. At the beginning Lorenzo and his tumbler friend Teo started to play Baghèt, the tipical Bergamo’s bagpipe, and after a few month the medieval bagpipe. Folkstone find their inspiration in band like In Extremo, Corvus Corax, Schelmish and other transalpine medieval bands. After a small research, the first line-up was completed and Folkstone were ready to compose their own songs for the mini album “BRIGANTI DI MONTAGNA“. Their live shows are a mix of “extreme medieval metal music” , fire-games and beer..... .. .. Create your own visitor map! |
