| OK, so what is Acoustic Brew? It's all about live music in a quiet, intimate place. The chance for new acts to gain experience and more established acts to try a stripped down gig.I started Acoustic Brew after moving to live in Dunfermline two years ago from Kirkcaldy. I spent a lot of that summer (2006) playing open mics in Edinburgh and decided that what was needed was a West Fife based open mic.My own experience has shown me that for new artists to gain experience, get a chance to play and to develop there needs to be a forum where they can get up and try out a couple of songs.For me, Cafe Fresh, from my very first visit, seemed the perfect venue. Great coffee and cakes, a 'performance' space and in Jill (owner) someone who was committed to promoting her cafe as a meeting place for writers, artists etc.Since November 2006 Acoustic Brew has had a monthly open mic. Acoustic Brew Presents is a development of the open mic nights but features extended sets by two featured artists.If you're interested in playing then contact me!Stuart | |
