Music:Member Since: 2/10/2007Band Website: garageband.com/artist/strangecargo Band Members:StrangeCargoThe current line up of Strange Cargo has an ecclectical group of four guys with very different backgrounds.Strange Cargo is a great blues band that has been around for the past twenty years. The music is smooth and has a great originall feel to it even when playing cover tunes. When once asked what kind of music the band plays by radio man, Paul Hanover(CKOC HAMILTON), John Crawford answered movin' music. Thus the term MOVIN' MUSIC describes it all.The current line up has four great musicians with a passion for playing and giving their all.Here they are:Ged, just Ged, born in Hamilton in Scotland and now lives in Hamilton Canada. Big change for the guy! Being from Scotland Ged thinks he is the reincarnation of Wully Wallace. But on the bass guitar Ged creates great sounds at will. He first started playing bass with the band Midnight Blue in 1988 in Hamilton, Ontario and played all over the Ontario's Golden Horseshoe.In the 1960's Ged played with The Spirits based out of Glasgow, Scotland. In the 1970's working with famed record producer Art Schneider of the famed Perywinkle Records, Ged was a session musician and vocalist for various Canadian Artists.Ged recorded his own compositions withPerywinkle Records with his band MIRAZH.Today with Strange Cargo Ged is a driving force with his wonderful skill on the bass guitar and powerfull vocals.John M.Crawford was born in Springburn, Glasgow, and now resides in Hamilton Ontario. John started playing guitar in the early 1970's and immediately starting writing songs. One of the first bands John played with was with the Walter Ostinak Polka Band. And was on the television show Polka time out of Kitchener, Ontario. (By the way Walter Ostinak has won three Grammies you know!)John was the starting force of Strange Cargo forming the first line up in 1986 and well, the rest is history. John believes that the current line up is the best yet and has the potential to reach the stars.With John`s cool vocals and great guitar rythyms the music is smooth. John has also recorded and produced records on the HollCraw Records label. John has also played for Ged`s band Midnight Blue as well as Direct Drive, I Spy and many others.
