Influences: At The Cut Family Foundation, we are a non-partisan musical think-tank in the sense that we make no distinctions between what modern media and market forces call genre. We endeavour to explore the vast world of music in all of its forms, hence, the influences which hold sway over the members of The Foundation cover the gamut of western music. However, there are some influences which are a common thread such as: James Brown, Louis Armstrong, Cannonball Adderley, The Meters, Ray Charles, Memphis Slim, Sonny Rollins, Sly and The Family Stone, Jimi Hendrix, Funkadelic, Muddy Waters, Aretha Franklin, Brother Jack McDuff and a host of others whom are all funky, soulful, talented giants of our collective musical past.
