| Sista Gracy- born 1965 in St. Mary, Jamaica - since 1985 resident in Germany - Grew up in Jamaica with Reggae music from her childhood days,her father and mother toured during the sixtys and seventys with their soundsystem the parishes of the northcoast ,mam was the selector, dad was MC, so little Gracy get the chance to take the microphone. - 1985 she met a german reggae bassman, who became her husband , moved to Germany and joined the Herbman Band as a percussionist, before she turned the leadsinger in the ninetys. - Gracy is a singer , singjay and deejay and put her contious lyrics on roots and dancehall riddims, lyrics about love, good and bad things happening in the world, and her faith and believe in Jah. - released couple albums and maxis, worked with artist on different productions. - In the ninetys she toured with the band throughout Germany , on her side Ragga Fraenkie - 1994 got invited to the legendary Reggae Sunsplash Festival in Jamaica with the Herbman Band as the first german reggae band ever appeared on that festival. - After a break in musicbusiness started 2005 to record the new album , supported by various artists from the german reggae scene.... - Sista Gracy‘s musical works was honored in december 2005 with the first German Reggae Award in the kategorie “ Reggae Queens “. - The new album "Yardy" was released in August 2007, featuring artists like Gentleman, Dr. Ring Ding, Sugar Minott , Ragga Fraenkie and Mephisto.Discography: Herbman Band- "Hold tight" Album '87 fuenfundvierzig / Efa Gracy and the Herbman Band- "See me yah" CD '91 fuenfundvierzig / Indigo "Low budget" Maxi CD '93 fuenfundvierzig / Indigo "Movements" CD '94 fuenfundvierzig / Indigo Sista Gracy - "Yardy" CD '07 Echobeach / Indigo | |
