| I'm a classically trained pianist (USC Thornton School of Music) who somehow wound up in the musical theater world in Las Vegas.I've logged nearly 4000 performances as music director and pianist of "Forever Plaid" as well as its holiday incarnation, "Plaid Tidings".Other involvements have included "Chicago", "Mamma Mia", "Phantom of the Opera", "Spamalot" and "The Producers." Upcomming work as of September 2008 includes "La Reve" at the Wynn Las Vegas, and "Jersey Boys" at The Palazzo.I also maintain a private piano studio: some of my students hang out here on MySpace: don't listen to anything they have to say about me. Back in my late teens, I dreamed of having one of these:The original 1984 Pontiac Fiero is a car with a bad reputation: deservedly so. GM bean counters watered down Pontiac division's original plans to build America's first high performance, mid-engine sports car. The little two-seater was crippled by suspension components from existing GM economy cars, and a horribly lackluster engine that had the nasty habit of occasionally catching on fire.------------------------------------------------------ By the 1988 model year however, with a more powerful engine, new body style, and newly designed suspension, the Fiero was leagues years ahead of where it was when first introduced. By then however, bad press from those early models convinced GM to cease production.------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------If you're a car guy/gal, don't believe the popular sentiment. Do a little digging: you'll find that with its space-frame construction, mid-engine design, and many other features, the Fiero's design was ahead of its time.My dream of having a Fiero finally came true in July 2005. She only has about 8,500 miles on her odometer, and now lives in my garage. Television:TV is often a BIG disappointment. Usually, it's just hundreds of channels of dreck to choose from. I'll turn the thing on to see if there's anything on Comedy Central, The Cartoon Network, The Discovery Channel, and maybe TLC or the History Channel. If the first few minutes of checking doesn't yield anything good, I turn it off and go look for more interesting things to do-- like watching paint dry. Well, OK: Futurama, Family Guy, and others of this ilk are fun, and my Tivo is a welcome change to TV drudgery. I must admit one major addiction though: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. What a great show: great story, great characters! |
