| Minimal arrived on the Miami music scene in 2003. With over ten years of onstage experience in the U.S. its members bring an eclectic and innovative concept to the artistic mood of the city. Through their lyrics, Minimal presents stories, dreams, and fantasies, which are accompanied by electric sounds, drum machines, and electronic sequences, arraying chaos into sonic and assonant patterns.
In 2006 Minimal releases their first LP titled Fotos, Cartas Y un Puñal under the record label Fabrika Music. That same year the band travels to New York to participate in the Latin Alternative Music Conference, L.A.M.C., and present the album in a series of concerts. While the first single, “El Cubo,” airs throughout alternative radio stations in the U.S., the video for the same – directed by Vlo Erminy – receives airplay on Mtv3 as well as other alternative video shows throughout the country.
In 2007 Minimal makes a guest appearance on Spanish network Telemundo’s Frecuencia, while their second single “No Sonar,” circulates on Fuel tv’s Adrenalina tv. In the summer of 2008 the band will release their second production, an EP titled "Hermoso Caos," which promises a new era for the band’s music and image.
Minimal has shared the stage with internationally-known Spanish-language acts such as Aterciopelados, Volumen Cero, Yerbabuena, and Libido.
Minimal is: Gabriel Ayala on guitar and vocals; Roberto Taninaka on guitar, sequencers, and samplers; Emilio Sandoval on bass guitar; Alejandro Angée on drums and drum machines; and José Luis Amador on acoustic guitar, charango, and samplers.
Minimal se instaló en la escena musical de Miami en el 2003. Con más de 10 años de experiencia en escenarios de los Estados Unidos, sus miembros traen una propuesta eclética e innovadora a la vena artística de esta ciudad. En su lírica, Minimal presenta historias, sueños y fantasias que acompañan con sonidos eléctricos, cajas de ritmos, y sequencias electrónicas, ordenando el caos con patrones sonoros y asonantes. En el 2006 Minimal lanza su primer LP titulado Fotos, Cartas y un Puñal bajo el sello discográfico Fabrika Music. En el mismo año la banda viaja a Nueva York para participar en la conferencia de musica alternativa, L.A.M.C., y para presentar su disco en una serie de conciertos. Mientras que el primer sencillo, “El Cubo,” rota en varias emisoras y programas de música alternativa en los Estados Unidos, el video del mismo tema – dirigido por Vlo Erminy – circula en el canal de videos Mtv3 y en varios programas de música alternativa del pais.
