The music is thumping and heads are bobbing in a steady sequence, it’s quite clear that Hip Hop’s newest breath of fresh air duo, Topp Gun have landed and left their mark on Hip Hop with a undeniable hit on their hands.Born and raised in The Bronx, New York, Jo Shine and Bravo unite their lyrical skills to bring to the music industry a new breed of hip-hop talent. Despite being influenced by some of hip-hop's greatest performers past and present, Topp Gun’s unique style and powerful delivery sets them far apart from other artists in the game. True to their craft and far beyond the gimmicks that’s currently flooding the essence of Hip Hop; this duo focuses their uprising as lyricists not rappers. Setting out to bring music’s focus back to the true origin of The Bronx, New York, Jo Shine and Bravo have it all in perspective.After witnessing each other’s talents and recording one track together in a studio overlooking New York City’s bright lights, Topp Gun’s sound was instantly officially born. With production credits that include industry talents such as the Tribeca and Beat Brokers Entertainment co-owner Portiay, who have much credibility in production by some of today’s biggest artist such as Camp Lo, Dipset’s - Juelz Santana and Hey Young World Kids- just to mention a few- Topp Gun continues to prove their talent, commitment, and ability to pull together for an overall established sound.“We feed off of each other” claims Bravo as he’s entering the booth to record. “Jo could hear something and suggest a change in the bounce when I’m layin my vocals and I might just fill up the gaps in a hook to give it that extra energy and the rest is a rap after that!”Topp Gun has come a long way paying their dues to now open up at venues that include some of the hottest spots in New York. This energetic lyrical duo has performed in many of NYC's local establishments such as PLANET 28 , MO BETTER'S , BLACKTHORN, SAND BAR, RITLERS, JIMMY'S BRONX CAFE, SOB's, EXIT, CLUB DEEP in Miami, FL, THE SUPER CLUB and many other local and national music production venues where their talent was applauded and admired by many. When asked about their influences, they collectively mention the names of New York’s biggest rappers, Biggie and Jay-Z. They also mention the influences of Eminem, Nas, Meth & Red, and Outkast as well.Jo Shine and Bravo are well on their way in making their mark on the music scene.
