Hey, I am David, I am metal and I am music. I'm tall, black hair, why do i tell you this?.. I love music, with passion, I play guitar (ESP EX400) through an Ashdown fallen angel all valve amp (local manufacturer now out of production :(). I hope to start up a band.. but more about that later... I enjoy going to gigs LOTS. Local gigs, London gigs... any that have great music to hear.. I also believe you should support your local artists, go to gigs, buy the merch, be their friends and tell them how much they rule! (That might be slightly odd) I can be a bit hyperactive and very immature at times, I don't believe in all this ACT YOUR AGE bulcrap, sure act mature at times where its needed but still go out there and have the time of your fucking life! Have a large interest in modern rail but some interest in steam. I am a railway enthusiast NOT a trainspotter :-p The most important things in my life are my music, Dukey, Ron and my music. I have a wide range of music taste but most of it comes from true heavy metal. IE Power metal or traditional heavy metal. However I have a love for progressive metal in the vein of Fish era Marillion (Some H Marillion) and solo Fish.... I adore 'interesting' black metal, as aposed to the bog standard boring blasting black metal, bands I deem interesting usually have some sort of progressive element (Enslaved for example), or just experiment and aren't all oh look at us we're kvlt and true..Musics my life and I think i'd die without it..(I don't want to find out, this is why I treasure my harddrive like hell.. and now back it up.. Imagine losing over 90gb of music collected throughout your life?!) I really love music thats emotional in overall sound and lyrics, (No, NOT emo.) One of my all time favourite albums is Misplaced Childhood by Marillion which pretty much sums up the emotional statement above! Saw Fish on tour recently where he did the whole album live (Very rare) and it brought tears to my eyes and THAT my friend is what makes music the most powerful and amazing thing in the universe.. and why I cannot live without it! I also have an amazing girlfriend called Iona.. shes pure awesome I can't believe I found her.. so.. ! Mine ! It feels like I was always meant to be with her, everything before was to prepare for this.. to be hurt and learn from it so I could make myself a better person.. :) Its funny how life works. Thank you Iona! My one and only! BAND PROJECTS I play guitar and i'm currently trying to get a band going. When it comes to my black/death metal guitar/songwriting my influences are: Enslaved Hecate Enthroned Akercocke Graveworm Opeth (some elements). I'm deffinately trying to create a mix between Black/Death metal with progressive elements to steer away from the straight forward blasting a lot of boring BM bands stick to! One of my long term aims is to have a Progressive Folk/Epic/Pagan metal band, and my influences in that area are; Ensiferum Turisas Eluveitie Moonsorrow TrollfesT Finntroll Amorphis I would like a balance between fun folk metal and folk/pagan black metal, although this seems pretty difficult.. Its a future thing though... when I have contacts with people who play violin/accordian/keys/bagpipes (Anything that suits the above genre). I do draw influences from all bands when writing generally though.
